Running time: 2min 30sec
Before words, before kindness, before everything social. The body asks how it truly wishes to be, and answers by turning into warm light as it spins round and round to a song like a spell all its own.
This work incorporates drawings by 58 participants in ShiShi Yamazaki’s drawing class, “ShiShi Yamazaki’s Drawing Class”.

Lyrics
kuru kuru
little tummy hidden
my tummy be light
kuru kuru go round | pop and gone
kuru kuru go round | here we go
kuru kuru go round | body be light
gone friends | are back
we be circle | we go circle
all the tummies be light
let’s dance
we go big | we go small
we go loud | we go quiet
tummies be light

Thank you. I love you. You’re so cute. My face and the face of the stuffed animal I talk to every day cross over each other as we keep exchanging gentle words. Amid division and uncertainty, a small time signal for filling our everyday lives with love, with our own hands.

Ceramic (5 pieces)
H25 × W70 × OD25 mm
Living with ceramics, we are always kissing the earth.
Mountains, soil, become vessels,
and we put our lips to them to eat our meals.
Here, five S-size pieces from the KISS series, ceramic objects modeled on the artist’s own body lying on the earth or face down, kissing the ground, are displayed on the shumoku, the wooden beam used to strike the temple bell.
